Professor Pavitra Pillay
Prof Pavitra Pillay is the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Durban University of Technology (DUT), South Africa, and has served as Secretary and Vice Chair of the South African Committee of Health Sciences Deans (SACOHSD). She is a registered Cytotechnologist with early career experience in laboratory diagnostics at Regional Laboratory Services in KwaZulu-Natal. With over 29 years in higher education, spanning roles from Lecturer to Deputy Dean, she demonstrates extensive leadership in curriculum development, academic governance, and institutional transformation.
Professor Ramadimetja Mable Kekana
Professor Kekana is the Head of the Department of Radiography and Chairperson of the School of Healthcare Sciences at the University of Pretoria’s Faculty of Health Sciences. Originally from Mokopane in Limpopo, she was raised within the Ndebele culture, where respect for seniors and the elderly played an important role in her upbringing. Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s and Honours degree in Diagnostic Radiography, a Bachelor of Administration, a Diploma in Tertiary Education, a Master of Technology in Education and a PhD in Education.
Professor Dalena (RM) van Rooyen
Professor Dalena van Rooyen is a senior academic leader with international associations, experienced researcher, educator and activist for quality transformative health professional education and training. She has extensive experience in the higher education sector, particularly relating to strategic leadership in health professionals education and have fulfilled numerous leadership positions (appointed and elected) and has served as the president of the Academy of Nursing of South Africa for a number of years. She currently holds the position of vice-dean in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Nelson Mandela University.
